How To Get A Hunting License In North Carolina

In North Carolina, you may go hunting without a license only if you are 15 years old or younger. Otherwise, you need to purchase one. This law applies to residents as well as non-residents. The younger hunters will have to be accompanied by licensed adults.

The only special types of hunting licenses offered by the state include senior, disability and military/veteran. The senior resident license for those who are 70+ years old is a lifetime license.

You can apply for a license physically at a Wildlife Resources Commission office or from an agent. The licenses are also available at the department’s website.
