How To Get A Hunting License In Michigan

The state of Michigan allows anyone to hunt—including young kids. For the very young ones (9 years and below) there is a Mentored Youth License. They will still need to be accompanied by an older hunter though. From 10 to 16 years, there is a special Junior Base License which is cheaper than the regular hunting license.

Besides the resident and non-resident licenses, the state offers the following special-case licenses: disability, senior, youth hunting license and military/veteran.

Approved retailers are found all over Michigan and you can get your license from them. Alternatively, visit the Department of Natural Resources website.
