How To Get A Hunting License In Maryland

The state of Maryland requires every hunter—regardless of age—to have a hunting license. Residents aged 16 years and older are eligible for the regular hunting license. Younger residents can acquire the junior hunting license at less than half the price. To get this license, they need to show written permission from their parent/guardian. These requirements apply to nonresidents as well.

Special hunting licenses are available for military/veterans, people with disabilities, seniors and the youth.

Please note that for some animals and birds, additional permits are necessary.

Visit a state department Service Center, the numerous license agents or better still, the website of the Department of Natural Resources to get your license.
