When is Hunting Season In Alaska

Alaska is one of the best places to hunt even for non-residents. However, sometimes nonresidents are limited based on the availability of game. Confirm while purchasing your license.

Deer/Goat

General: August 1 to December 31.

In most zones, you are only allowed to hunt bucks until September 14th. From September 15th to the end of the season you can hunt any deer.

Elk

General: August 1 to December 31

Turkey

There is no closed season.

Small Game

Quail: no closed season

Pheasant: no closed season

Squirrel: no closed season
