Everyone who wants to hunt in Virginia must get a license. Residents should get a resident license while non-residents should get a non-resident license. Residents below the age of 12 may hunt without a hunter education or hunter license. Non-residents of the same age will need a license but a hunter education is not required.
Special licenses include youth hunting, senior resident, military/veteran and disability.
You can buy your license from an approved retailer or online at the Game and Inland Fisheries website.
