The state of Kentucky has interesting regulations as far as hunting licenses are concerned. In fact, there are free days when people can hunt without licenses. They have events such as Trapping Week, Free Youth Hunting and Free Fishing Days when participants can enjoy license-free hunting.
You also do not need a license if you own or are a tenant in the farmland and are a Kentucky resident. (but you should still get a trapping license).
People who should have licenses include all residents and non-residents aged 12 years and older.
These are the available types of hunting license provided by the state of Kentucky: resident, non-resident, youth license, senior license, military/veteran and disability.
